There are some interesting hotels to visit around the world, but if you are a mixed media art lover, the Propeller Island City Lodge is a visual delight. The German Artist turned hotelier, Lars Stroschen, created Propeller Island City Lodge to showcase his audio-visual creations. Stroschen started his art career in Photography and Graphic Design, after studying visual communications at the Berlin Academy of arts. He has always had a passion for music, and particularly electronic music. Stroschen created a music label, Propeller Island, to distribute his own music. He entered the Hotel business with a four-roomed hotel to finance his music career. Over the years his hotel grew, and by 2005 The Propeller Island City Lodge has over 30 uniquely decorated rooms.
Book in for the night at the Propeller Island and choose from a selection of extraordinary rooms. Try the Flying Bed room, which has a slanted floor that creates the illusion that the bed is flying. All the rooms in the hotel contain entirely unique custom-made furniture and room decorations.
Try the Mirror Room – this room is entirely decorated with mirrors. The room itself is diamond shaped. From every angle in the room, the mirrors reflect light and colour, and yourself. This is considered a very “sexy” room, and has the reputation of being a highlight at the hotel.
In the Upside Down Room, you will find just that: the furnishings hang from the ceiling. In this room visitors are not expected to sleep upside down, but in comfortable boxes beneath the floorboards. The Upside Down Room is one of the most unique rooms in the hotel.
